MF Hospitality is a NYC-based full-service consulting and advisory firm providing innovative and strategic counsel to the hospitality industry at large. We also offer many of our services remotely.

We specialize in bar and restaurant operations as well as turnarounds for struggling or financially distressed operations. Our expertise is wide-ranging and includes concept development, food and beverage strategies, menu development, cost management, operational procedures, and staff training.

HOW WE WORK

If it's our client's first venture, we consult and guide them through the terrain of opening their first bar or restaurant, from securing necessary permits, liquor license approval, menu planning, point-of-sale programming, sourcing and interviewing staff, and all other pertinent steps. If a client faces a critical situation, we offer objective analysis, feedback, and solutions concerning the strengths and weaknesses of front and back-of-house operations, menus, and concept refinement.

Matthew Friedlander, Founder & CEO

Matthew (“Matt” to his clients and friends) has over 25 years of experience in bars and restaurants. He has worked in every conceivable position in the industry, from dishwasher and busboy to beverage manager and operations director. His unparalleled knack for deciphering the “numbers” side of the business paired with his passion for all things food, beverage, and hospitality led to him opening MF Hospitality in 2021.

 

Matt has been responsible for driving operational success and revenue increases at Grand Banks, Drift In, Il Buco Alimentari, Sweetwater Social, Amor y Amargo, and Fools Gold. He has also collaborated on the creative execution of branding and marketing campaigns with Jack Daniel’s, Speyburn, and Blueprint Juices. His cocktail recipes have been published in Time Out, Liquor.com, Bevvy, VinePair, Serious Eats, and PunchDrink.
